Here’s how the process works:
- A wonderful human like yourself purchases a digital hug on the website. It’s easy with our handy dandy form. You can choose to boost your purchase by adding a dedication to your digital hug that will show up on the registry when someone clicks into the document. You can also boost your purchase to get a sticker and postcard in the mail… snail mail from Crazy Sexy Elsie!
- When your purchase goes through, your digital hug instantly shows up in the registry. Right there where everyone in the whole world can see it. And unlike NFTs, they won’t have to hunt all over the internet for it or need to decode any technical gibberish. Your mom will be so proud that you dedicated your digital Hug to her.
- Once all the digital hugs are purchased, I will magically transform them into real hugs. I will do this during the second phase of the project at different locations. Who knows, you might be able to purchase AND receive a hug as part of this project. You never know where I’ll show up.
- When someone gets a real hug, they also get a card. The card has instructions on how to register that they received the hug. They will need to go to the website and enter the unique serial number of the digital hug, along with a 4-digit PIN to prove they actually received it. They can also leave a message about their experience. They will have 14 days to register or the hug may be given to someone else and a new PIN created.
- We all enjoy watching this project unfold. The website will be updated frequently with purchases and hug receipts. Once it reaches 5000 hugs sold, then the real life hugs will continue until all of them are given out. I might give out extras if people don’t register their hug receipts. Then, at some point, it will be finished. The digital hugs will remain on this website for eternity! (Or until I feel like taking it down, but minimum 2 years from the start of the project.)
